The Quokka

The Quokka is a tiny marsupial found only in a handful of places in South West, Western Australia. With a status of rare and vulnerable, this is a highly protected species.

The Quokka is similar to a wallaby and very cute. I was lucky to get close to this one on Rottnest Island.

I think the Quokka is one of Western Australia's best kept secrets. I have been in Australia my whole life and have only just found out about this cute little critter. I am glad I did though.
